Saturday, January 12th: 10am-Noon
  • Parent/Toddler session (10-11:15am) ages 18 mo. - 2.5 
  • Storytime with a Twist - ages 2.5 - 8

  • Science: DIY Makerspace with Ms. Albing - ages 6 & up (or younger w/ parent)
    Unleash your imagination at the HMS Makerspace! Use real tools such as screwdrivers and drills to take apart and reinvent reclaimed objects. Visitors can dismantle, repurpose, and rebuild a host of materials, from cardboard containers to toy motors, to create something utterly unique. The DIY Makerspace empowers learners of all ages to explore design, engineering, and science concepts through open-ended, experiential activity.
  • Escape Room: Escape from the North House Ghost - ages 9 & up
    Join us as we use clues and puzzles as players have to escape from the North House because the "North House Ghost" has come out.

    Recycled weaving with one big loom. Work together as a family and recycle holiday ribbons, packing materials and gifts bags to make one big masterpiece.

    Enjoy working as a family as you create print making masterpiece with found objects. What would happen if you inked cloth, a stuffed animal, or everyday kitchen objects? Explore texture and shape and take home a one of a kind print.

    How Do Dinosaurs Go to School? by Jane Yolen with dinosaur craft
  • Science: Beekeeping and Lip Balm Making with Ms. Fagan - ages 6 & up (or younger w/ parent)
    Most people know that bees make honey, but did you know that they also produce wax? Come learn about bees and the wondrous things that they produce. The Hudson Montessori beekeepers will teach you about bees and will guide you through the process of making your very own lip balm. Come find out what all the “buzz is about” in this fun and informative workshop!
  • Family Art: Bird Feeder Family Creation with Ms. Blatnik - ages 3 & up
    Create a platform bird feeder as a family. Attention all parents: watch your fingers! Your little one will be in charge of the hammer for this fun project!

  • Science: Maple Sugaring with Mr. Huck - ages 6 & up, (or younger w/ parent)
    Maple syrup has been an American tradition dating back centuries to North Americans. It has a special place in the history and culture of Northeast Ohio in particular. Come discover and learn about the process of making maple syrup. From the tapping process to the boiling process, you will learn about each step along the way and learn about the science and culture behind maple syrup production.
