HMS Student Recognized as Finalist in Ohio Essay Contest

Every year the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage offers an essay contest titled Stop the Hate. Students from grades 6th through 12th are encouraged to write an essay about a time when they witnessed or experienced acts of injustice, racism, bigotry or discrimination, how that experience made them feel, and how they plan to create positive change in their community from that experience. The middle school is proud to announce that 8th level, Noor S. was recognized as one of three finalists out of schools from all around Northeastern Ohio. On February 24, along with other finalists, Noor will take part in a photo and video shoot that will highlight her essay and its impact on her. On Thursday, April 2, Noor will take part in the 12th Annual Stop The Hate Awards Ceremony at Rienberger Hall at Severance Hall in Cleveland. We are all so proud of Noor and her work. We wish her the best of luck at the awards ceremony in April. Congratulations Noor!
