Hudson Montessori
School Board of Trustees is responsible for the strategic direction
of the school.
Management of the school is delegated to the Head of School with
the Board providing appropriate
guidance and direction in support of the Heads efforts.
The Board currently consists of eleven individuals,
selected to provide a wide range of talents in various disciplines:
financial, legal, human resources, business management, maintenance
& construction, marketing, education and public relations.
All potential Board members are required to demonstrate a high
level of commitment to the school prior to being invited to serve
on the Board. Board members serve a two year term, with a maximum
total tenure of six years.
The focus of the Board is the long term success
of Hudson Montessori School. The Board created a seven year Strategic
Plan in May of 2002, and will annually update this plan to reflect
the ever changing educational/business environment in which the
school operates. Each year prior to the start of school, the Board
and Head hold a retreat to review the Strategic Plan, modify the
plan as necessary, and create a one year Operating Plan for both
the Board and the Head.
While the focus is long term,
the Hudson Montessori Board meets monthly (except in July) to
hold the members and the Head accountable for those items that
must be completed pursuant to their yearly Operating Plans. Financial
Statements are also reviewed monthly, and issues facing the school
are discussed to gain the best possible decision.
Only Board members and the Head may attend the monthly
meetings so that confidentiality can be maintained.
Parents may address the Board concerning its activities
by writing the Board President, JoAnna Shore, at
info@hudsonmontessori.org.
The Board also allocates 30 minutes prior to each Board meeting
for parents to address the Board. All questions concerning the
management of the school must be brought to the attention of the
Head of School. |
