The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall stewardship of Hudson Montessori School, including establishing the strategic direction, policies and plans to ensure the school's future well being.
The Board currently consists of nine individuals, selected to provide a wide range of talents in various disciplines: financial, legal, human resources, business management, maintenance & construction, marketing, education and public relations. All potential Board members are required to demonstrate a high level of commitment to the school prior to being invited to serve on the Board. Board members serve a two year term, with a maximum total tenure of six years.
The Board maintains several standing committees and membership on these committees includes representation from the Hudson Montessori School community and beyond.
In 2008, the Board created a seven year Strategic Plan. Each year prior to the start of school, the Board and Head hold a retreat to review the Strategic Plan, modify the plan as necessary, and create a one year Operating Plan for both the Board and the Head.
While the focus is long term, the Hudson Montessori Board meets monthly (except in July) to hold the members and the Head accountable for those items that must be completed pursuant to their yearly Operating Plans.
